It is something that my sifu, Antonio Hart, and also Greg Lyons, would always tell me. At every performance I play, I could not help but feel that way. It’s one of the best ways to make sure that I play at my best ALL THE TIME, even if it’s just a money-making gig.
It is truly a blessing to able to play a note, and make people feel something when they listen to our music. It is truly a blessing we get to do what we do, get paid for it as well. I believe it is a privilege that we get to play music and bring joy into the life of our friends, and audiences. It is a privilege that we have been given this gift, to that we can share, and pass it onto others with love and gratitude.
Every playing moment is so special, that we can’t afford to ruin it by playing random notes. One has to ask themselves:”IF today is the last day of my life, what would I do with my music, and where we can go from here?”
“Play, like today could be the very last day of your life!”
